For over 17 years, Thao Minh Do has been crafting exquisite Haute Couture in Germany and the United States. She trained at the Berufsschule für das Bekleidungsgewerbe in Bavaria and completed a prestigious two-year apprenticeship under renowned couture designer Peter Keppler, mastering the art of luxurious dressmaking.
After joining Keppler GmbH in 1986, Thao quickly advanced, specializing in high-end cocktail and evening gowns. Her exceptional skill and dedication led her to become an independent contractor for Mr. Keppler, creating intricate custom-draped gowns for discerning clients. During this time, she also earned her Meisterprüfung (Master Craftsman Certification) from the Handwerkskammer München.
In 1998, Thao relocated to California, furthering her studies in Fashion Design and Apparel Technology at West Valley College. She now owns and operates Minh Fashion Atelier in San Jose, California, a couture boutique specializing in custom gown design, bridal alterations, and
personalized tailoring.
Thao also contributes her expertise to designer Camelia Skikos’s collections in San Francisco, bringing precision, elegance, and individuality to every garment she touches
